Triotherm at a Glance

Where does Triotherm+ come from?

Triotherm+ was developed and is supplied by Meesenburg GmbH & Co. KG, a German specialist in window and door components.

prodomo Ireland is the Irish distributor for Triotherm+

What is the main application for Triotherm+?

Triotherm+ was originally developed as part of a certified system for installing windows and doors within the external insulation layer, outside the main structural wall.

In Ireland and the UK, one of the main applications is as a structural insulated door upstand beneath entrance doors, sliding doors and floor-to-ceiling windows

What is Triotherm+ made of?

Triotherm+ is manufactured from high-density EPS with graphite additives.

Compared with standard EPS insulation boards, it has a significantly higher density and is designed to provide both structural load transfer and thermal insulation

Is Triotherm+ an approved product?

Yes.

Triotherm+ is part of a comprehensively tested system supported by independent technical documentation and third-party certifications.

Depending on the application, relevant documentation includes:

  • European Technical Assessment
  • Environmental Product Declaration
  • Cradle to Cradle certification
  • emissions classification
  • technical test data
  • installation documentation

The current certificates and technical documents are available in our Technical Documentation section.

What door weight will Triotherm+ support?

There is no universal maximum door weight in kg per metre.

The suitability of a Triotherm+ door upstand depends on the complete installation, including:

  • total element weight
  • position of the support points
  • threshold construction
  • upstand dimensions
  • structural substrate
  • fixing arrangement

Triotherm+ has a high compressive load-bearing capacity, but the complete load path must always be considered.

How is Triotherm+ supplied?

Triotherm+ profiles are supplied in standard lengths of 1,175 mm.

Where longer upstands are required, profiles can be joined end-to-end using the integrated dovetail connection.

For bespoke dimensions, Triotherm+ can also be combined with Triotherm Structural Insulation Boards and MultiPro Structural Insulation Boards.

Who normally installs Triotherm+?

Triotherm+ door upstands are normally installed by the contractor or builder on site.

Some window and door suppliers also include the installation of the upstand as part of their package.

The system is designed to be installed using standard construction tools and does not normally require a specialist trade.
