Determining the Required Upstand Width

The required width depends mainly on the depth of the door or window frame and the intended support area beneath the threshold.

Triotherm+ profile for many standard frame depths.

100 mm
Suitable where a wider structural support area is required.

120 mm
Can be achieved by combining a Triotherm+ profile with an additional structural insulation board.

170 mm
Can be created using two rows of Triotherm+ profiles for deeper threshold constructions.

Frame Overhang

Where appropriate, the door or window frame may extend slightly beyond the Triotherm+ upstand.

An overhang of up to approximately 20 mm on each side can be useful in some details, for example to simplify the connection to internal floor finishes or external paving.

The exact arrangement should always be coordinated with the frame geometry, support points and waterproofing detail.
