Available Standard Dimensions for Triotherm Door Upstands

Triotherm door upstands can be configured in a wide range of dimensions to suit different door frames, threshold details and floor build-ups.

The system uses three main structural insulation components:

  • Triotherm+ Profiles
  • Triotherm Structural Insulation Board
  • MultiPro Structural Insulation Board

Depending on the required width and height, these components can be combined to create an upstand suitable for the individual construction detail.

Triotherm+ profiles

Triotherm+ profiles are supplied in a standard length of 1,175 mm and can be extended to any required length using the integrated dovetail connections.

When used as a door upstand, the standard profile width is 85 mm, making it suitable for many door and window frame configurations up to approximately 125 mm frame depth.

Triotherm+ profiles are available in the following standard heights:

70 mm · 80 mm · 100 mm · 120 mm · 140 mm · 160 mm · 180 mm · 200 mm · 230 mm

The different profile heights allow the upstand to be matched closely to the required floor build-up and threshold position.

Structural Insulation Board

The Triotherm Structural Insulation Board is supplied in a standard size of:

600 × 1,200 mm

It is available in four thicknesses:

20 mm · 30 mm · 35 mm · 40 mm

The board has square edges and can be used in combination with Triotherm+ profiles to increase the width of an upstand or adapt it to a particular door or threshold detail.

When joining the board to other Triotherm structural insulation components, PowerFix adhesive should be used in accordance with the system requirements.

MultiPro Insulation Board

The MultiPro Structural Insulation Board is supplied in a standard size of:

1,200 × 1,200 mm

Available thicknesses range from:

30 mm to 120 mm in 5 mm increments

This wide range of thicknesses makes MultiPro particularly useful where a bespoke upstand width is required, for example beneath deeper door frames, sliding-door thresholds or other large glazed elements.

MultiPro incorporates tongue-and-groove connections on two sides, allowing boards to be joined securely when constructing upstands longer than 1,200 mm.

Choosing the Right Dimensions

There is no single standard door-upstand dimension that is suitable for every project.

The required size depends primarily on:

  • the door or window frame depth
  • the required threshold position
  • the finished floor build-up
  • the structural substrate
  • the position of the insulation layer
  • the required thermal connection between the floor, wall and door frame

The aim is to provide sufficient structural support beneath the frame while maintaining continuity of the building’s insulation layer.
